Jesse Eisenberg Online is a site run by fans for the fans. We have no contact with Jesse Eisenberg or his management.

I wasn’t going to make a post like this but, due to the amount of comments and emails I’ve received in response to his Conan interview, I felt it was about time this was mentioned again.

Jesse gave one example of a bad interview experience, and sadly his example was of a Spanish show, but I don’t think his intention was to single out a whole country based on his experience on a tv show. Many of you have informed us (intending to let Jesse know) that nothing on the show, that the host said, was rude or a joke against him. However, as I said in some other comments, it’s more than likely that the joke and its intent was lost in translation. We don’t know what Jesse heard through his earpiece and it’s likely that he was told something, poorly translated, that he found to be a joke against him, not with him.

Jesse is smart and he’s proved this in many other interviews. However, being smart doesn’t mean you know everything about everything in situations you find stressful. Slipping up on one fact does not make him “a dumb American”. I’m sure most of you don’t know the complete History of America, either. He also doesn’t need to “shut up and learn another language” to be seen as a smart guy. As an English speaker, not American and knowing no other languages myself, I find this view to be more than offensive.

Most of the comments and emails we’ve received, that were actually intended for Jesse himself, have gone above and beyond the level of rudeness people are claiming he showed on the show. His comment was said in the heat of the moment and was intended as a joke, (a joke clearly lost in translation/taken the wrong way – much like the case that caused this whole issue anyway) while most of you have clearly sat there for a while to come up with some of the hateful things we’ve had to read.

So once again, in an attempt to save your time and our email account: Please do not send us messages intended for Jesse to read. You are more than welcome to comment and leave your views on things, but don’t word them as though they’re to him. He won’t see them and neither will anyone working for him who is paid to deal with this kind of backlash.

We’re just fans running this site for fun. The things we’ve seen and received in the past few days have not been fun at all and it would be nice if that could stop now. Continue being upset with him if you must, but please don’t direct your comments to this site or its email.
