Best Film: The Social Network
RIO DE JANEIRO – American actors Anne Hathaway and Jesse Eisenberg on Friday promoted the animated feature film “Rio” in the German Complex, the number of slums in Rio that was an important stronghold to be taken by criminal and Police Forces Armed last November.
The two actors in Hollywood on Friday attended a screening of the film at Cinema Carioca, a modern room equipped for 3D productions that opened in the German Complex after the community was occupied by the Police.
Both lent their voices to key characters in “Rio “, a 3D animation that tells the story of Blu (Eisenberg), a nice blue macaw who travels to Rio de Janeiro to meet Jewel (Hathaway), a female of his species with the which tours the city’s major attractions.
The film, directed by Saldanha, creator of the saga film “Ice Age” has its premiere scheduled for April 8 in Brazil for a week and then the rest of the world.
In the exhibition was attended by about 50 students from public schools in the German Complex selected for their good grades.
“This is a gift to you. I know that all students are good and I hope you have fun, ” said Anne, who posed for photos in front of the theater alongside the students and the mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes.

Jesse really doesn’t seem to have much of a relationship with Anne Hathaway offscreen. I heard They costarred in a TV show Get Real when they were almost kids… like, 12 years ago.
So you’d think they would have something to talk about… but no. no chemistry whatsoever between those 2.
As distant as possible, bordering on coldeness – judging by the photos we’ve seen of the Rio cast.

I was expecting them to be somewhat close or whatever too. Jesse probably hated Anne after she and Franco made fun of his penis size at the Oscars and because of this http://www.imdb.com/media/rm1007139328/nm0004266. Lol, I’m making that up.
It’s probably because both their boyfriend and girlfriend were present, it would be somewhat awkward to be all nostalgic and friendly in front of them. I’m sure this isn’t the first time they met and talked in 12 years. They were doing recordings for Rio for about 3 years and they did the Vanity Fair cover together.
But we really don’t know much, they probably talk more off camera.

I did see you post in the forum that picture of Anna – thanks so much! before that I didn’t realize Anna was there. but I did recognize pictures of Adam Schulman…
but I can’t imagine that would get into the way of chatting and catching up… their girlfriend/boyfriend can’t be as possessive as all that, LOL.
even as the 2 leads, they’ve barely been in a frame together and never referred to each other in interviews… I’m more inclined to think that they really don’t hit it off with each other offscreen.
Although I’m sure there’s absolutely no animosity or unpleasantness, just… their offscreen personalities probably don’t mix very well.
well it does happen. *sighs* even though I would like to have imagined a big friendly reunion and stuff. but then, they really do seem like extremely different people.

One thing I noticed with Jesse—he goes along better with guys (e.g. Andrew Garfield, Justin Timberlake, Justin Bartha, Woody Harrelson, Aaron Sorkin) than girls. Maybe the problem is just with him, Anne is always known to be a social person.
Now about their bf and gf. There’s this thing called Oscar curse that whoever ends up winning best actress tends to end up having a divorce or break up, it’s such a prevalent belief that scientific studies have been conducted to prove it. The result?
Turns out that when a guy’s partner wins an Oscar, it diminishes his ego as the stronger and more successful one in the relationship. Anne hasn’t won yet but considering she’s dating a D-list actor and hanging around all the time around these other successful actors, I can only imagine his possessiveness. Same goes for Anna, a horde of groupies were probably trying to get into Jesse’s pants after his newfound fame in Hollywood.
Speaking of Lainey, I read this blind item on Page Six some time ago:
“Which Oscar nominee has been making up for his previous lack of action with the ladies by sleeping his way around the film circuit? Most popular guess is Jesse Eisenberg.”
I totally LOL-ed at that. My guess was James Franco though. Jesse makes sense too.

XD at least never as adapted to making social calls or “connecting” to the right people, or putting on a smiley face at all times, or endearing himself to the press, as the average movie star is… it’s part of why his success seems so special and refreshing to me and, well, part of my reasons for loving him.
(but I worry for him sometimes. this can’t be a good thing for him in his professional capacity. at the very least, i really want him to become more comfortable with it…)
you’re right about Anne’s boyfriend, that’s probably a factor. thanks for that info i’ve never read up on Adam Schulman before….

/ March 26, 2011anyway jesse really is painfully awkward with the ladies offscreen. looking at pictures of Brenda Song with him at the Social Network DvD lauch party makes me want to weep…. she’s like this green disney queen opening her majestic arms and pouncing on him and cooing, while he looks like a scared puppy. Ouch.
not funny at all. i feel like the best relationship he’s had with any of his female co-stars is with Kristen Stewart (it’s a good thing of course but Kristen isn’t known for having great relationships with girls either?) …. that just can’t be good.

/ March 28, 2011I was so eager to see them together on a pic together but yes, I agree with those who say there’s an obvious lack of interaction between him and Anne, which is quite unusual for two lead actors of the same film doing promotions together.
I am assuming this is their first time to meet for Rio-related reasons. I know the voice recordings for most animated features are done separately so I doubt they recorded voice together. Also the Vanity Fair cover with Anne, James Franco, Jake G & Ryan Gosling were shot separately (to accommodate James Franco’s school schedule) as they were the main cover; the rest (Olivia Wilde, Jesse, JGL, Andrew, etc.) were shot together.
I saw a clip of Jesse and Anne doing an interview together in “The Insider” for “Get Real” (it was a “Back Story” feature on Anne), and they seemed pretty chummy. Jesse was talking and Anne was giggling like crazy (obviously to what Jesse was saying). It does seem strange though they now seem like total strangers but for now I’d give it the benefit of the doubt. The show they did together was over ten years ago and so much has changed then, that could be awkward. Maybe there’s awkwardness too, like what the others suggested, because their respective special someone/s were there with them.
I was hoping it would be Anne who’d give insight to Jesse as a 16-year-old but alas…
