Best Film: The Social Network
Several celebrities attended Farm Sanctuary’s 25th anniversary gala this past Saturday night at Ciprani Wall Street in Manhattan, including Social Network star Jesse Eisenberg.
Jane Velez-Mitchell, who also attended the event, aired a brief segment on the gala that featured an interview with Eisenberg.
“I’ve been associated with Farm Sanctuary for maybe 10 years,” Eisenberg said. “I come from a family of animal rights activists so Farm Sanctuary is a wonderful organization that we’ve been so honored to be a part of.”
Farm Sanctuary has spent over a quarter of a century rescuing farm animals from abusive situations while educating the public and pushing for legislation to enhance animal welfare standards.
“Many are often at death’s door when they are found and they’re rehabiliated,” Velez-Mitchell said in the segment. “It’s been a wonderful 25 years of compassion in giving voice to the voiceless and saving farm animals across the country. And I am so proud to be involved.”
Other celebrities who attended the event include Corey Feldman, Wendie Malick, Eric Roberts, Fred Willard, Loretta Swit, Ally Sheedy and Carol Leifer.

This is not for PR, it’s genuine support on his part. One article about the event pointed out that Jesse declined the “photo ops” for the event. And it’s great that he still finds the time to show his support for these organizations.

Belle: actually I think he needs a haircut… I like Jewfros as much as the next person, but I think Jesse’s hottest when his hair has this cropped, roughly tousled look, like in 30MOL…
that blue shirt will never get old. (I seriously look forward to fall and winter when we might get his Timberland jacket again. I love that jacket.)
Cecille: yeah I think he really enjoys those events.
On the other hand he has been criticised for not letting them take his photos at similar charity events. Some people (gossip blog writers & journalists) seem to feel that as a celebrity, surely he should lend his fame to that charitable cause and do as much as possible to help them promote, and a few photos can’t hurt….
I gotta say I feel there’s something to be said for that argument, but then I’m also sure Jesse has perfectly sound reasons.

JuL, that makes me sad that some would criticize Jesse for not agreeing for photo ops. I don’t know, I am kinda on his side for this. In my work, I get to tag along my boss sometimes when he’s going to meet VIP people, and people there would go crazy just to have a photo op with that VIP. I guess that is what he avoids, not saying everyone is like that, but maybe he just want to steer clear of people who would use the pic as like pictures to show off to friends and display on their FB page.

again no idea as to the source. (thats the biggest issue I have with tumblr. the networking design allows you to spread info at the speed of lightning and there are thousands upon thousands of dedicated fans on shift around the globe, reposting the latest piece of gossip. But you can NEVER find out about the source because people NEVER bother to quote the damned source.
And I lack time or skill to track it down.)
