Jesse’s reaction to his Academy Award nomination

With an Oscar nom under his belt, Jesse Eisenberg will jump from “The Social Network” hullaballoo to hosting this week’s edition of “Saturday Night Live.”
“I expect it might be funnier,” said Eisenberg of his upcoming gig.

As for why he chose to take on “Network:” The script was wonderful, the character was endlessly fascinating — a very frightened and frightening character.”

As for the real person behind the very real person, Eisenberg says he tried to avoid all of the controversy surrounding the portrayal of Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg in film.

“I ducked it,” he said. “It was not my responsibility to account for either the accuracy of the movie or the kind of legal standing of the movie as it related to the company. My job was so focused and limited to portraying the character.”
