TIME: Three Questions for Jesse Eisenberg

TIME have a short Q&A with Jesse where he reveals how up on pop culture he actually is. You can watch the video and read a transcript of his answers below.

TIME: What are you looking forward to in 2011?
Jesse Eisenberg:
I’m not really looking forward to anything in 2011. That’s because I don’t really look forward to anything in general. I mostly reflect on previous things. The truth is I live without a television and have for the last 10 years. I don’t go to movies. I don’t receive magazines. I try not to receive mail. I’m not aware at all of popular culture. Or unpopular culture. And so it’s kind of strange to be part of something that has had some cultural impact because I have nothing personally to add to that discussion. I’m also not on Facebook, which is probably implied by me not opening mail.

What was your least favorite pop culture item in 2010?
I don’t mean to sound so out of touch but I literally just discovered baseball. I know this is America’s pastime. But I literally discovered it this year and I started going to baseball games in Queens. I’d bike over the bridge and that’s most of the fun of it, is biking to the game and I’d see the last few innings. So this is all to say that I’ve discovered nothing this year that’s part of popular culture because I’m busy discovering things that have been invented 100 years ago.

What do you wish you had worked on in 2010?
All the things I wish I had done this year were things that I planned on doing and procrastinated too much to accomplish. So whenever I read something wonderful, I don’t wish I had written it. I’m so happy that somebody else did so I can just enjoy it. I don’t feel envious of Jonathan Franzen for writing that great book. I’m so happy he did so I could read it.
